Tengboche Trekking- 7 days

Tengboche Trekking is beautiful walk to experience Everest region. It takes you to Sagarmatha National Park, Namche and Tengboche and lest you capture magnificent mountain summits including Mt. Everest ( 8848m).

Tengboche Trekking also takes us to Hotel Everest View which offers us stunning sunrise and mountain panorama in Everest region. At the same time, we experience Sagarmatha National Park, its wilderness and endangered and rare species of flora and faunas.

We begin our Tengboche Trekking from Lukla. Before that, we take a short and scenic flight to Lukla from Kathmandu. It is 35 minutes flight. We meet our team at Lukla and begin our trek to Phakding.

Slowly, we get into Sagarmatha National Park from Monjo and begin to experience alpine flora and faunas. Our further trek takes us to Namche Bazar.

Namche Bazar is the capital of Khumbu or Everest region. It is also a popular tourist hub with luxurious restaurants and hotels. Tourists wonder to see such facilities in Namche Bazar. So, majority of tourists view that Namche is a must visit place in Nepal.

Traditional Tibetan Market, Sherpa Cultural Museum, Hotels and restaurants, Thamserkhu  mountain and Hotel Everest View are the prime attractions of Namche Bazar.

We further trek up to Hotel Everest view in the morning next day and capture mesmerizing sunrise and mountain panorama including the top of the world, Mt. Everest (8848m).

Then, we trek to Khumjung village. Khumjung village is a traditional Sherpa village rich in age-long culture. We spend one night in this village and experience rich Sherpa culture. Our final section of the trek takes us to Tengboche. Tengboche is one of the most ancient monasteries in Everest region. We explore Tengboche Monastery and its serene surrounding and finally trek back to Lukla via Namche and Phakding.

Accommodation

We will offer three star accommodations in Kathmandu. If you want to upgrade the accommodation, you have to pay some extra. Mountain accommodation during the trekking days will be very ordinary and basic. All accommodation will be on twin sharing basis. Single supplementary has to pay extra.  We spend the night at lodges and guesthouses. We occasionally get attached bathrooms. eNepaltour Pvt. Ltd. tries its best to book the A grade accommodation in the mountain prior to the trekking unlike other populated regions.

If you really want luxury accommodation even in Namche, we can arrange it.

Meals

We provide only breakfast in Kathmandu and during the trekking days. In the trekking days, you pick up the item mentioned in the menu at the lodge or guesthouse and you will enjoy it. Sometimes, in a big group, you may have buffet service too. This takes place especially in peak season (Sept-Nov).  Breakfast will be provided at the guesthouse where we spent the night, lunch somewhere in the middle of the next destination and dinner at the guesthouse where we stay tonight. We offer you typical organic Nepali cushion which are really amazing.  

Best Time to Travel

Autumn (Sept. to Nov.) and spring (March to May) are the best time for Trekking. The weather is delightful and pleasant during autumn. The mountain views are astonishing.

The hills are wrapped with beautiful flowering rhododendron during spring. Majority of the trekkers find Spring best time for Tebgboche Trekking since they love to see flowering rhododendron in Sagarmatha National Park.

Winter( Dec-Feb) will be very harsh due to cold and cloudy weather which hide the mountain peaks.

Summer will be too hot for some trekkers. Heavy rainfall occurs and disturbs the transportation and even walk in the mountain.

Physical Condition and Experience

Those who can walk 4-5 hours in the mountain can do this trek.  Tengboche Trekking  is an easy  trek in Everest Region Trekking in Nepal . Regular exercise, jogging and short hiking enhance your stamina and confidence. No prior trekking experience and technical skills are required for Tengboche Trekking. These prior skills will be an asset for it.

Getting to the trailhead and Away

We fly from Kathmandu to Lukla. It is short 30 minutes flight.  Lukla is the beginning point of Tengboche Trekking. We again end our Tengboche Trekking at Lukla and take a scenic flight to Kathmandu.

1. TIMS Card UDD – 20
Recent update: These days, we do not need TIMS Card from Nepal Tourism Board. We can buy a location card at Lukla which costs USD 20. Actually, Everest region is independently promoting Tourism in Everest region these days.

 2. Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit USD -30

Threats and Safety

We do not really face such terrible threats during Tengboche trekking. There is no any slippery and steep trail  and challenging passes in Tengboche Trek. Sometimes, steep uphill while getting to Tengboche Bazar from the suspension bridge may be challenging to the beginners.

There are few cases the trekkers suffered from altitude sickness. It may be because dehydration and lack of stamina. Report it to you trekking leader or guide if you have any health inconveniences. You will immediately be rescued. Drink plenty of hot drinks and do not smoke in the higher elevation. Have balanced diet and have sound sleep.
