Nagarkot Day Hiking is another beautiful site that lies close to the Kathmandu city and within the valley itself. This gorgeous hill station directs to the eastern side of Kathmandu and attracts tourists who go through the gateway to tourism in Nepal. Lying at an altitude of 2,170m/7,119ft, popular viewpoints there offer superb views of the landscape down below.

It is 32 kilometres away from Kathmandu and can be easily accessed after one and a half hours of drive. This scenic drive is zero waste. It means that even if you are inside a vehicle, you enjoy every frame outside the window and would not want to miss any of them. Getting to the trailhead and Away

First, we drive from Kathmandu, Thamel to Sankhu. Sankgu is 7 km drive from Thamel and it is the beginning point of Nagarkot hiking. We leave the private car or jeep and begin our hiking towards Nagarkot. This hike is via country settlements and deep forest. On return, we take a private jeep or car from Nagarkot to Kathmandu. It is 32 km drive from Nagarkot to get Kathmandu.

Day 01: Drive to Sankhu from Thamel and hike to Nagarkot ( 40 minutes drive and 4 hours hiking) ( 2170m)

It is 40 minutes drive from central Thamel to Sankhu form where we begin our hiking. We hike amid beautiful settlements and landscapes. We finally get Nagarkot at the top of the hill. We check in hotel and go for the sunset at the Nagarkot viwe point and stay overnight at Nagarkot.

Day 02: Rise early for sunrise and mountain view- drive back to Kathmandu ( 2 hours drive)

We rise early in the morning for sunrise. The guide will inforam you what time to get up and go up to the tower for sunrise and mountain views. Then we get back to the hotel and have our breakfast. After that , we leave Nagarkot for Kathmandu. It is 32 km drive from Nagarkot to Kathmandu. We finally drop you to the hotel you have booked or you can go to the Kathmandu airport for you international flight directly.
