Bouddhanath Stupa
Located 11km northeast from the central Kathmandu, Bouddhanath Stupa is the world’s biggest stupa and has been one of the prime tourist’s attractions in Nepal. Swyombhunath Stupa/ Monkey Temple
Swyombhunath Stupa is one of the most incredibel Tourist Attractions in Kahtmandu valley. A massive Stupa representing the religion, art and architecture from ancient Lichhabi period in the history of Nepal, Swoyambhunath Stupa or Monkey Temple is one of the dominant tourist’s attractions in Kathmandu Valley. It is located atop hill to the west of the central Kathmandu. It is around 3 km away from Thamel. The accesses are both vehicles and the legs. It is 20 minutes walk from Thamel.
The deep and sublime forest around the stupa fascinates huge numbers of people for fresh air and meditation.
The monkeys in the forest make this stupa more natural and eco-friendly. Sometimes, these monkeys turn to be mischievous if they see some food carrying in your hand.
Buddhists regard Swyombhunath Stupa/ Monkey Temple ( UNESCO World Heritage Site) as one of the most sacred sites.
It is not only a tourist attraction as a UNESCO World Heritage but also for the people who love jogging and aerobics because the forest provides fresh and cool air. People also find it as a vantage point to view wntire Kathmandu Valley.
The complex consists of a massive stupa, a variety of shrines and temples, some dating back to the Licchavi period. A Tibetan monastery, museum and library are more recent additions. The stupa has Buddha's eyes and eyebrows painted on. Between them, the number one (in Devanagari script) is painted in the fashion of a nose. There are also shops, restaurants and hostels. The site has two access points: a long staircase leading directly to the main platform of the temple, which is from the top of the hill to the east; and a car road around the hill from the south leading to the south-west entrance. The first sight on reaching the top of the stairway is the Vajra.
Pashupatinath Temple
Pashupatinath Temple is one of the world’s famous Hindu pilgrimage site in Kathmandu valley. The god of the gods, Shiva, is worshipped in this Temple. Shivaratri is the greatest festival to worship Shiva in this temple. Thousands of pilgrims come to visit Pashupatinath Temple during Shivaratri from India and other countries.
Pashupatinath Temple is located at the bank of holy Bagmati River. The river was polluted in the past due to overpopulation and urbanization but at the time, it is getting cleaner. Several rituals are performed at the bank of this river. The cremation is the most striking thing to observe at this river premises .
The Pashupatinath Temple is magnificent piece of art and architecture representing ancient civilization, history and culture of Nepal.
Patan Durbar Square
Patan is more religious site than a historical and cultural. Patan is famous for beautiful Krishna Temple/Mandir . The arts, architecture, stone and wood carvings, idols, museums etc are lively to read the ancient history and civilization. Every nook and corner of Patan is magnificent with installment of carvings and idols of deities.

Narayanhiti Palace Museum
Narayanhiti Palace served an a resident for a long time for royal family in Nepal when there was monarch. After monarch was overthrown, the palace was announced as Museum officially . And now, people are visiting this palace as a museum.
The historical objects and inscriptions which represent long history of kingship in Nepal are preserved in this museum. If anyone has interest to know the history of kingship of Nepal, they can go and read a lot about it.
Narayanhiti Palace Museum is located just outskirt of Thamel which is a 5 minutes walk from central Thamel.
